Nocturne

so i get home from work only to see that i missed this....god damit. I am super excited for TRON: Legacy and i got the score a couple of days ago and it is most definitely the hotness. I cant wait to see the visuals that accompany the excellent music of Daft Punk.

I think i might be one of the only people in the world that does not have a facebook. seeing this makes it a fact. This is strangely beautiful.

Its pretty crazy how huge Angry Birds has become but the damn game is addicting and at 99 cent or free for the android version its easy to see why it is. I wonder what the game would have looked like on the O.G. gameboy color. That was an excellent device i still got my kiwi colored one.

do yall remember the David Bowie video with Bing Crosby for little drummer boy well Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly decided to pay some respect.

These guys are crazy and you have to admire the accuracy that they accomplished in the video. Also how money is Ferrell's hair and makeup. Reilly looks really bloated i think he is retaining water or something like that. On the topic of John C. Reilly he has a  really bizarre show on adult swim. Dr. Steve Brule is certainly a character.

ok everyone onward to later for discussions on violent 80's movies and replicants. What ever happened to Daryl Hannah after Kill Bill?

Armory

Early today kids. Taking some time off from choosing my classes. This is a really stressful time: finals and then you throw thinking (stressing) about what class your going to take next semester during this semester. Yeah that makes sense. Oh yeah and its going to be more expensive.

aNYways moving on..... Cliff Lee needs to make up his damn mind and quick and its not like he will make a difference. He is not that great (especially $100 million+ good) of a regular season pitcher and the Giants made him look human in the world series. Plus MLB does not need another Barry Zito.

So i did not even know that this is being made but its pretty awesome. check it out.

oh yeah that just happened....fast five.

I caught on late to Y: The Last Man but jeez is it good along with Hush and Watchmen its the best comic book i have ever read and i am not even halfway through it. I recommend it highly and i you can check out the first issue here. and if you like that the writer, Brian K. Vaughan, also wrote Ex Machina which is terribly excellent as well.

murphy! im a mess. god robocop is so great.

Hugo Strange

So as we all know (or should dear god people come on) Tom Hardy (Do yourself a favor and watch Bronson the man is rocking the shit in this) has been cast as the villain in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" (really wish it had a better title but alas i trust Mr. Nolan)

Lots of rumors have been circulating around the interweb about what character Tom Hardy would play and the popular opinion has been that he will play Dr. Hugo Strange.

Now i think this all but makes that a fact.

The reboot that has occurred in the Batman video game realm is insane. Arkham Asylum is a really amazing game made better by the bad rap that comic book based game get that it broke down.

It hard to believe that Luke is the voice of the Joker.

Sorry about the Batman overload but my anticipation is getting pretty bad and the film does not even come out until July 20th 2012. Wow i did not even realize how long this wait is going to be.

On a different note the world is collapsing.

Thats a really scary video and i am really glad that no one was in there to get hurt. Because of this the Vikings Giants game is to be played in Detroit instead with general admission tickets to be given out for free. I never knew that the roof was pretty much a glorified hot air ballon. It amazes me that this is the first time that a catastrophic collapse has occurred.

But anyways yall have a good night and lets end on a lighter note.

Solar Sailer

hELLO everyone hope that school has not effectively shut down your nervous system.

Before moving forward i am going to take you back way back......

Apparently these students believe that Stonehenge was built using balls on rails. To think that this prehistoric monument could have been made with such a genius simple idea is crazy. With it you can move 220 pounds of concrete with one finger. I have always been amazed at how things are built and how heavy things are moved around. One that has always been pretty epic to me is how the bart tunnel (i guess thats the term) under the bay that connects San Francisco to Oakland was built.

Now I saw something really cool that is about a different kind of ancient history.....my childhood.

I love Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. They were always my favorite cartoon characters (other than batman).

I think its awesome that they are making more shorts even after all these years and the relative obscurity of all the great warner brothers characters is a damn shame.

and on a last note the oscars are quickly approaching and the list of contenders for Best Visual Effects was released. In my opinion other than Best Cinematography this is the coolest award. It gives a shot for a legitimate award win to all those pretty shiny blockbusters. Inception all the way i think.....or has Leo been in my mind?

i'll be your mirror

its been a long time...i shouldn't have left you.

well its thanksgiving again and we have to give thanks for all we have. i am blessed to have a loving caring family and to have amazing friends and a really special lady in my life. we really don't know how much time we have here so we need to cherish the moments that we are granted.

but enough of that heavy stuff lets change the mood a bit.....

i was strangely swayed by sports today and the first thing i came across was this pretty controversial article.

the bizarre image of derek jeter in a red sox uniform is enough to make some people vomit and honestly considering how crazy yankee and red sox's fans are if this deal went through people would die.

staying with the whole new york theme their are some proposed renovations for the madison square garden.....

seriously people bridges.....thats awesome finally standing room only tickets would not be a buzzkill.

i like the description of the upgrades by the president of MSG: "These are going to take it up a notch - because you're on bridges." oh yea nuff said.

hope nothing of the sort happened to any of you crazy shoppers.

and last but not least Christoph Waltz is seriously awesome people.

oh ralph....

this is star wars....

Nacho Cheese

As everyone that knows me can attest to, i love cheese. All kinds of it: asiago, blue, havarti, waiters probably hate serving me at italian restaurants because they have to stand there shredding for so long. Now i am not a connoisseur or anything like that i just really do love it. I even go so far as too put it on my waffles. Now i don't know if people think that is weird but its good try it put some shredded on those waffles.

Now you could even go so far as to say that my interaction with cheese borders on addiction which is what everyone tells me and guess my surprise when this morning i find this little nugget.

It turns out that cheese has morphine in it. Researchers have known since the 80's but it is not some sinister plan funded by the government it is just a natural occurrence in cows and apparently also in human milk. Milk contains casein which when the milk is turned to cheese provides similar efffects to opiates.

This is pretty crazy/scary almost enough to make me rethink my stance on cheese.....nah its too good i'll stay addicted.

in other news tomorrow morning there will be an itunes related event and the interweb is buzzing with rumors. Apparently the best supported one comes from the Wall Street Journal.

i guess she relinquished

It looks like Beatlemania will sweep the U.S. of A again.

good night everyone sleep tight the red lobster has night patrol.

Hill Valley

i have a slight inclination today will be mostly film based.....

first off huge news

I heard that Darren Aronofsky was in talks to film Wolverine 2 but i did not know he was confirmed already and i get the news that not only is he gonna direct it but Matthew Libatique is along for the ride to shoot it. Both these immensely talented men have worked together on all of Aronofsky's film except for "The Wrestler"and in my opinion always create something visually amazing.

The fact that we have an Oscar nominated director at the helm of what will be a huge blockbuster like Wolvie 2 is amazing. Comic Book related movies have never been respected much and are always seen as forgettable summer fodder but with high profile directors such as Christopher Nolan, Matthew Vaughn, and the one two punch of Iron Man and The Dark Knight in the summer of 08' has established a strong presence for the much over looked comic book genre. I am beyond excited to see how a film about Wolverine will turn out under the guidance of the usually dark Aronofsky.

Now i am going to segway in a little different topic that just caught my eye. As many of you know Call of Duty: Black Ops recently just came out and has been receiving some attention for other reasons that its monster ($360 million in the U.S. and U.K.) first day sales.

The other press its getting is for the game first level in which the player is thrust in to Cuba and ultimately assassinating Fidel Castro. Of course this caused a huge uproar with the Cuban government. The government claims this is "perverse" and i can only think of the terrible things that that government has done to its people that would be deemed perverse.

on a lighter note and to wrap things up with something topical regarding flash mobs....

the dark lord has returned

test run

hello everyone not really sure how to start so ill jump right in.

i was thinking today while at a fine fast food establishment that it would be bizarre to live in a world where sit down restaurants and purveyors of speedy greasy (yummm) sustenance switched rolls. where would throngs of men propose to their blushing brides? Mc Donalds thats where. food for thought.

this is gonna be so epic i am so amped.
they just released the title track to the soundtrack.
This seems to me the only occasion that i can think of that the soundtrack for a film is just as anticipated if not more than the actual release of the film. I have yet to see the o.g. 1982 TRON but december 17 is still a long ways a way.....

The Heat lost tonight which is awesome but the celtics took them out for the second time in as many weeks (i am a huge Laker fan by the way) and that is not ok but hey------------------------------->

and to make matters worse the Lakers just lost. Damn tough first lose of the season.

on to brighter topics though....

i saw Scott Pilgrim recently and wow Edgar Wright can do no wrong. Consistently this man makes me laugh with his films. I totally geeked out on this from the 8-bit Universal logo to the music from Zelda. I love the fact that this movie lives in its weirdness and obscurity. Upon viewing it actually reminds me of the film "Brick". Both these films are completely aware of what they are and the ludicrous unnatural way we are presented with the story and concept are so well done that we don't question it. How that noir film about high schoolers got made i don't know but i am glad it did.

i thought this was funny.......

and on a last note i really enjoy behind the scenes articles, videos, pictures, etc. and i found a really cool one over at Vanity Fair. Heres to millions of peoples childhoods.

ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) has been at the fore front of all special effects houses for over thirty years and seeing these pictures made me realizes how incredible they really are. I cant believe that some scenes of E.T.'s ship were shot with miniatures.

ok so thats about it for today
excuse the time of night

salutations
